What are the skills that an employer looks for in a prospective employee??






There are many factors that an employer looks for in a prospective employee. Of course educational qualification and proper skills required for the job is mandatory  .  A part from that ,  according to me these are the four main factors that I think an employer wants to be present in an employee. The four points are discussed here under-
1.       Communicational skills
2.       Teamwork skills
3.       Analytical skills
4.       Creativity and confidence

Communicational skills:

It includes the way how an employee communicates with other. It includes verbal and non-verbal  , written and oral communication. It also includes interpersonal skills in which the body language, attitude and confidence is taken into account. The employer always looks for someone who can clearly understand the message and convey exactly the same. The employee must have positive attitude, must be able to co-operate with others in a friendly manner, he or she should be honest and maintain integrity.

Analytical skills:

It is an important factor. The employer looks for someone who can think logically to arrive at a particular decision. He or she needs to conceptualize  , articulate and solve the problem. He or she should have strong work ethics , should be able to analyse the problem , dissolve it into component parts and solve it.

Teamwork skills:

It includes various aspects such as the behaviour of the employee towards the team mates , friendly attitude towards co-workers. He or she should be respectful to each other’s point of view.  A good employee should be a great listener. He or she should keep note on every minute details .He or she should be able to work in group and communicate ideas so that the overall idea produced is a productive one. He or she should be reliable. He or she should have the ability to resolve conflicts reasonably. He or she should be a good organiser, planner and should be able to meet deadlines. He or she should be flexible and adaptable to work environment  ,  should be committed to task assigned and should be punctual in producing report efficiently.

Creativity and confidence:

The employee must be creative enough to develop new ideas and generate the same with confidence. He or she should be humble enough to appreciate other’s ideas. He or she should analyse each pros and cons related to the project and take decision confidently which is beneficial for the organisation.
